Philanthropic Film Finance® is a new legacy category. Philanthropic Film Finance® gives a benefactor a private path to finance one scripted feature film aligned with a cause.
A benefactor may be an individual, couple, multigenerational household, or private foundation, including those working through a family office. Film budgets range from $5M–$20M and include the full film path: development, prep, shoot, post, and marketing/distribution. The process is private and shaped by the cause the benefactor wants the film to carry.
Each TANŌ engagement centers on one benefactor, one production-ready screenplay, one feature film, and one cause. TANŌ does not begin with a slate, a menu, or a script-shopping process.
Founder and CEO Rosser Goodman curates a focused path and brings forward one carefully vetted, production-ready screenplay aligned with the benefactor’s cause. If the screenplay resonates, TANŌ guides the next conversation with the benefactor and filmmaker before the film moves ahead.
TANŌ budgets for the full life of the film: development, prep, shoot, post, and marketing/distribution. Development budgeting supports the work required before prep begins. Marketing/distribution budgeting supports festival submissions, audience marketing, and Return on Impact after post is complete.
